Southwest Championship Wrestling is born on these two 1978 episodes as San Antonio, TX promoter Joe Blanchard severs ties with Dallas promoter Fritz Von Erich. In the Summer of 1978, Blanchard begins booking his own talent and changes the name of his television program from "All - Star Wrestling" to "Southwest Championship Wrestling". Interestingly enough, Fritz's sons, Kevin, Kerry, and David, all appear on these two shows, the final episode of All Star Wrestling and the first episode of Southwest Championship Wrestling. In a strange twist, It would be Fritz who would purchase most of SWCW TV time slots from Blanchard's business parter, Fred Behrend, leaving SWCW with very little TV exposure and, ultimately, crippling the company in the spring of 1985.
