AJW Big Egg Wrestling Universe 4 Disc DVD

Here is one of the best wrestling events, not just in the history of women's wrestling, but in all of wrestling. AJW, the leading women's promotion in the 1980's and early 90's, had a chance to put on a show in the Tokyo Dome. Any event that is held in this arena is seen as being the equivalent of Wrestlemania in Japan. However, there is more than one big promotion, so there are many Wrestlemania-equivalent events. In the year 1994, wrestling was so big in Japan that a women's wrestling promotion could put on an event of this magnitude- and draw tens of thousands of fans into the arena to watch. The event drew so much attention that the WWF decided to have their women's championship defended here. Though women's wrestling has declined in recent years in Japan, this is one of the events against which the standard of excellence for women's wrestling is always set.

The total runtime of the whole show is about 10 hours or so, with each disc at about 2 and a half hours. The show was originally sold as four separate VHS tapes, so each disc has an introduction to the event which includes thoughts from the wrestlers and the promoters. Discs 3 and 4 have a tournament in them.
