Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas defeated Tex Slazenger & Shanghai Pierce at 5:25 when Douglas pinned Pierce after Steamboat raised his partner in a gorilla press and then slammed him onto Pierce for the win; prior to the bout, Slazenger & Pierce attacked both men with their bullrope, using it to clothesline Steamboat to the floor and then choke Douglas; moments later, Steamboat was attended to by Grizzly Smith and a referee on the floor and helped backstage until he broke away and ran back in the ring to make the save; after Steamboat stole the rope away, the referee confiscated it; during the bout, it was noted Keith & Kent Cole would be in action during WCW Saturday Night
